Wits Incubator (Pty) Ltd trading as Tshimologong Precinct is wholly owned by Wits Commercial Enterprise (Pty) Ltd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of the Witwatersrand.

Tshimologong Precinct was established to develop world class entrepreneurial and employable skills for the the African digital economy. We collaborate with academia, corporates, government and entrepreneurs, thereby fostering a digital innovation ecosystem.

In July 2018, the Digital Content Hub was launched at Tshimologong Precinct with support from the Agence Française De Développement (AFD) and Institute of France SA (IFAS). This provides the opportunity to develop our programming in digital content including the Fakugesi Festival, jamlab (journalism and media accelerator), Digital Lab Africa and our Skills Academy with studios focusing on animation and gaming.


The line of reporting for this role is to the Digital Content’s Business Development Manager, working in close interaction with respective content programme managers as well as the funder Agence Française De Développement (AFD) and technical partner Institute of France SA (IFAS). Your role entails but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Work with the Digital Content Hub’s Business Development Manager to translate partner needs to project plans and outcomes with relevant programme managers
  • Work with programme managers to develop project management plans and ensure that it is reviewed and updated at regular intervals during the project lifetime
  • Work with the M&E Coordinator to plan and record project outcomes, outputs, and methods of evaluation
  • Work with programme managers and the Finance Manager to plan and where necessary revise project budgets in keeping with project and funder requirements


  • Act as a liaison for the France-based Digital Content Hub Manager to integrate activity with relevant Tshimologong Precinct team members
  • Work with the French Institute SA (IFAS) to activate events and other opportunities for partnerships at Tshimologong Precinct


  • Manage all overall administration and filing across the project
  • Work with the funder AFD to develop an operations manual for the Digital Content Hub
  • Coordinate contracts and agreements across all relevant programmes with the company lawyer
  • Work with the booker to ensure that invoices are paid on time and invoices raised where required
  • Maintain documentation and other required information for auditing purposes as per funder requirements
  • Consolidate reports across programmes
  • Support recruitment, selection and administration of programme participants as required


  • Proven experience in project coordination or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of programme management and developing processes
  • Knowledge of budgeting and bookkeeping practices
  • Knowledge of data management
  • Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
  • Advanced business writing skills in English
  • Experience in the creative industry or training environment is beneficial
