Acceleration / Accélération
Who: For individuals and/or companies with existing projects they would like to accelerate and which shows that they have delivered work at this level.
Art forms: Video Games, Animation, XR – immersive reality (AR or VR)
What: The acceleration programme will provide 2 projects per art form (6 in total) with:
• masterclasses
• peer mentorship
• art form advisors
• pitch readiness
1 project per art form will receive a pitch development plan comprising:
• production support
• guiding mentor
• residency and showcase
When: 6 Projects will be selected and announced in early 2024, after which masterclasses and mentoring take place between March and October 2024 after which the projects will pitch at the Fak’ugesi Festival. The 3 selected pitches will have the opportunity to develop their project and participate in residencies and showcasing events in France during 2024.
Qui: Pour les particuliers et/ou les entreprises qui ont un projet existant qu’ils souhaitent accroître et qui peuvent justifier d’une expérience au niveau requis.
Formes d’art: Jeux vidéo, Animation, XR – réalités immersives (AR ou VR)
Quoi: Le programme d’accélération propose à 2 projets dans chaque forme d’art (6 au total):
• des masterclass
• du mentorat par les pairs
• des conseillers artistiques
• de la préparation au pitch
1 projet par forme d’art remportera un pack de développement de pitch comprenant:
• aide à la fabrication
• mentor accompagnateur
• résidence et mise en avant
Quand: 6 projets seront sélectionnés et annoncés début 2024, après quoi les masterclasses et le mentorat auront lieu de mars à octobre 2024, date à laquelle les projets seront pitchés au festival Fak’ugesi. Les 3 projets de pitch retenus développeront leur projet et participeront à des résidences et événements vitrines en France courant 2024.
Bootcamp
Who: For 50 young creatives working in digital artmaking across Africa wanting to share their work with each other and to connect with leading minds across the continent.
Art forms: Video Games, Animation, XR – immersive realities (AR or VR), Music, Visual Art (photography, design, performance, sculpture, painting, drawing).
What: Prior to the bootcamp 10 selected creatives per art form will meet with their peer mentor to jointly develop their bootcamp programme over three sessions where they will share their work and collectively create their dream bootcamp, selecting activities and speakers.
The creatives can pitch their project to the collective for a chance to receive development funding.
When: 50 selected creatives will be notified in May and will participate in three peer sessions in their art form groups from May – July 2024.
The bootcamp will take place before the Fak’ugesi Festival where creatives will have the option to pitch their project for production funding. Funded projects will be showcased at the Fak’ugesi Festival the following year and will automatically join the DLA 2024 Accélération shortlist.
Qui: Pour 50 jeunes créatifs travaillant dans l’art numérique dans toute l’Afrique qui souhaitent partager leur travail les uns avec les autres et se connecter avec des experts à travers le continent.
Formes d’art: Jeux vidéo, Animation, XR – réalités immersives (AR ou VR), Music, L’art visuel.
Quoi: Avant le bootcamp, les 10 créatifs sélectionnés pour chaque forme d’art rencontreront leur mentor pour développer conjointement leur programme de bootcamp au cours de trois sessions où ils partageront leur travail et créeront collectivement leur bootcamp de rêve, en sélectionnant des activités et des conférenciers.
Les créatifs peuvent présenter leur projet au collectif pour avoir une chance de recevoir un financement de développement.
Quand: 50 créatifs sélectionnés seront informés en mai et participeront à trois sessions avec leurs pairs dans leurs groupes de formes artistiques de mai à juillet 2024. Le bootcamp aura lieu avant le festival Fak’ugesi où les créatifs auront la possibilité de présenter leur projet pour un financement de leur production. Les projets financés seront pitchés au Fak’ugesi Festival et rejoindront automatiquement la liste restreinte DLA Accélération en 2024.

Who can apply?
Creatives from all African countries are able to apply. You must be a resident of the country in order to apply (you may not apply if you currently live outside of Africa).
Acceleration: Applicants must apply with a relevant project proposal and should have at least 2 years of creative experience.
Bootcamp: Early stage creatives in any of the five art forms may apply.
Qui peut postuler?
Les créatifs de tous les pays africains peuvent postuler. Vous devez être résident du pays pour postuler (vous ne devez pas postuler si vous vivez actuellement en dehors de l’Afrique).
Accélération: Les candidats doivent postuler avec une proposition de projet pertinente et doivent avoir au moins 2 ans d’expérience créative.
Bootcamp: Les créations à un stade précoce de l’une des cinq formes d’art peuvent postuler.
How are participants selected?
Applicants will be screened according to eligibility criteria as well as shortlisting by the project manager and peer mentors. All reviewers sign confidentiality and conflict of interest forms.
Acceleration: Selection of the 6 participants will be made my a jury of experts in the relevant art forms.
Bootcamp: Selection of the 50 participants will be done by peer mentors from each art form.
Comment sont sélectionnés les participants?
Les candidats seront présélectionnés en fonction des critères d’éligibilité ainsi que de la présélection par le chef de projet et les pairs mentors. Tous les évaluateurs signent des formulaires de confidentialité et de conflit d’intérêts.
Accélération: La sélection des 6 participants sera faite par un jury d’experts dans les formes d’art concernées.
Bootcamp: La sélection des 50 participants se fera avec les pairs mentors pour chaque forme d’art.
