Catalysing public and private partnerships within South Africa and through Pan-African linkages

The Digital Content Hub is the first of its kind in South Africa. With a focus on content development, it brings together unemployed graduates, professionals, researchers and producers of digital content products and services in categories such as gaming, animation, virtual reality, web series and digital music. The Digital Content Hub benefits from Tshimologong’s unique capability of developing learnerships, internships and entrepreneurial incubation programming while the Content Hub  cements Tshimologong’s approach to digital innovation as the intersection between hardware, software and content.

Through our unique approach to pipeline development, the Digital Content Hub programmes are focused on developing skills for the digital economy and unearthing Digital Startups.

The Digital Content Hub delivers programmes under 3 pillars:

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The Digital Content Hub’s skills development pillar is made up of 3 digital skills academies namely the Animation Academy, Gaming Skills Academy and the VR Digital Skills Academy. The courses offered through our academies include practical training, entrepreneurial mentorship, coaching and graduate exchange programmes. Our curriculums are developed in partnership with international institutions such as the french-based  Gobelins L’ecole l’image, local universities and the private sector.

INCUBATION & ACCELERATION

The Content Development Hub offers work-based experience and work-integrated learning programmes through skills exchange initiatives, masterclasses, workshops, incubation and residency programmes.

The Digital Lab Africa initiative has developed a huge network in the French and pan African market and continues to grow by offering an exclusive global mentorship programme that gives creatives access to highly experienced mentors, experts and studios from around the world.

The Market Readiness Pitching Incubation Programme is a 6-month tailor-made market readiness incubation programme targeted at animation content creators, accelerating them into the market.

MARKET ACCESS

A key focus area for the Digital Content Hub is to create market access for creatives.

The Fak’ugesi festival is an annual festival which strives to support growth and development in the digital creative sectors in Africa and the African creatives and entrepreneurs that work within them.

The Studios Collective is Tshimologong’s multidisciplinary development studio offering solutions in software development, hardware development and animation development. It supports quality entrepreneurs, incubated and vetted by Tshimologong, to accelerate their businesses through market access.

Business-2-Business Matchmaking
This is offered through different partnerships that have been established in our festival and eventing networks. Fak’ugesi is the key driver of this initiative.
