SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Addressing the challenge of graduates seeking job placement
Our Software Development Internship Programmes addresses the challenge of graduates struggling to find jobs in software development. Research has shown that graduates do not have sufficient knowledge or skills to enter the working environment and become productive in a relatively short period. At the same time, employers prefer to wait for developers with at least 2 to 4 years’ experience before they would be considered for job placement. In the meantime, the industry continues to outsource beyond our shores.
Software Development Internships therefore offer an opportunity for candidates are competing to get selected and that is recognised by employers as a source of quality candidates. This programme is aiming to achieve 100% employment using the Tshimologong networks
It is a challenge for many graduates to find employment as software developers. The industry prefers candidates with a couple of years of experience. Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct runs a software development internship programme aimed at training interns on projects under the guidance of a senior developer. This software development programme known as the Samsung Advance Industry Experience Programme, starts on the 1st of July and will run for twelve months ending on the 30 June 2025.
This high-intensity, fast-paced programme focuses entirely on growing the interns’ competence and hones their skills. Being on this programme is the equivalent of being in industry for up to 2 years, serving as a foundation for interns to grow and shape the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). We achieved a 100% placement with our previous cohorts.
Tshimologong Precinct will be accepting 18 interns for the next cohort and persons with disabilities are also invited to apply. Successful candidates will be paid a stipend for the duration of the internship. The programme will cover Java, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Springboot, Restful APIs, Mysql, Cloud Computing fundamentals, Git & GitHub, Agile Methodology and other relevant topics.
Interested candidates are invited to apply no later than 31 May 2024. Please consider your application as unsuccessful if you have not received any feedback by the 14th of June 2024.
